Position Overview

LCE is inviting applications from qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Assistant Lecturer – Biology. This full-time academic role is tenable at the Maseru campus. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Head of Department and will be responsible for teaching, assessing, and mentoring students in the field of Biology. The role also involves contributing to curriculum development, departmental planning, and academic research.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach assigned undergraduate courses and assess student performance
• Provide constructive feedback and support student development
• Participate in professional development workshops, conferences, and seminars
• Develop and review course curricula and materials
• Represent the department in academic panels and committee meetings
• Conduct academic research relevant to biology and science education
• Supervise and evaluate teaching practice sessions
• Provide academic counseling and guidance to students
• Participate in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities
• Submit timely academic records and student performance reports
• Undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of Department or College Management

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A Master’s Degree in Science Education (or equivalent), with a major in Biology
• Additional background in any other pure science subject is advantageous
• At least three (3) years of teaching experience at a recognized tertiary institution
