Position Title: Laboratory Technician – Industrial Control & Automation
School/Department: School of Engineering & Technology (SET)
Reports To: Head of Programme – Power Systems Engineering
📍 Location: Maseru, Lesotho

Job Summary

Lerotholi Polytechnic invites applications from qualified candidates for the position of Laboratory Technician – Industrial Control & Automation. The successful candidate will oversee the management and maintenance of laboratories in the areas of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Motor Control Circuits, Electronics and Industrial Automation, and Robotics.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratories before sessions and assist during practicals.

• Maintain equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed.

• Keep an up-to-date inventory of equipment and consumables.

• Install and maintain lab equipment in compliance with safety standards.

• Advise the Head of Programme on emerging trends in industrial automation technologies.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience & Certifications

• Minimum 1 year professional experience in the relevant field.

• Experience in teaching or assisting in an academic setting is an added advantage.

• Must hold professional certifications in one or more of the following:

  • Industrial Instrumentation

    
    
    

  • Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)

  • Industrial Automation
