About the Organization

The Persons with Disability Advisory Council (PDAC) is a statutory body established under the Persons with Disability Equity Act of 2021. The Council is tasked with promoting and protecting the rights, dignity, and overall well-being of persons with disabilities across Lesotho.


Position Overview

PDAC is seeking a detail-oriented and highly professional Personal Assistant to support the Director General (DG). This role is critical in ensuring the effective operation of the DG’s office by providing high-level administrative, logistical, and secretarial support.


Key Objectives of the Role

  • Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Director General’s office.

  • Ensure smooth coordination and execution of DG-related duties and responsibilities.

  • Maintain confidentiality, organization, and professionalism in all engagements.


Duties and Responsibilities

A. Administrative and Secretarial Support

  • Manage the DG’s calendar, schedule, travel arrangements, and meeting logistics.

  • Draft, edit, and format official documents, reports, and presentations.

  • Organize and maintain filing systems for official correspondence and records.

  • Handle correspondence and inquiries on behalf of the DG.

  • Coordinate logistics for Council meetings, public engagements, and events.

B. Communication and Liaison

  • Act as the first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders engaging with the DG’s office.



  • Manage emails, calls, and meeting requests—prioritizing and following up as needed.

  • Support internal communication between the DG and departments within PDAC.

  • Record meeting minutes and follow up on action points.

C. Office and Resource Management

  • Ensure the DG’s office is fully operational and adequately supplied.



  • Support budget tracking and resource management related to DG’s activities.

  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.




Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Office Administration, Secretarial Studies, Business Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in government, non-profit, or disability-centered institutions.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Ability to work independently with high integrity and professionalism.



  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in inclusive environments.


Reporting Line

The Personal Assistant will report directly to the Director General of PDAC.


Contract and Remuneration

  • Full-time, 5-year renewable contract.

  • Based at PDAC headquarters in Lesotho.



  • Remuneration is in accordance with the Council’s approved salary structure.
