Project Background

The Government of Lesotho, through the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, is implementing a Global Environment Facility (GEF)-funded project entitled:

“Integration of Natural Capital Accounting into Lesotho’s Policy and Decision-Making for Sustainable Development.”

The aim is to mainstream natural capital into integrated watershed management through the application of Natural Capital Accounting (NCA), a vital tool for measuring, managing, and integrating environmental assets such as land and water into development and economic planning using the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) framework.

Consultancy Opportunities

Consultants are invited to submit proposals for the following assignments:

1. Development of Methodological Notes for Natural Capital Accounting in Lesotho

2. Field Data Collection and Practical Guidance for Natural Capital Accounting in Lesotho

3. Capacity Building on Spatial Data Analysis for Natural Capital Accounting in Lesotho

4. Development of Training Manuals and Training of Trainers (ToT) for Natural Capital Accounting in Lesotho

5. Development of SEEA Water and Land Ecosystem Accounts for the Upper Senqu Catchment

Detailed Terms of Reference (ToRs) for each assignment can be collected in person (see below).

Proposal Submission Guidelines

• Interested local and international consultants must prepare separate technical and financial proposals.

  
  
  

• Proposals must be submitted in sealed envelopes, clearly labeled with the title of the consultancy.

• Each proposal must include the consultant’s CV.

Collection of ToRs

• Start Date: 17th March 2025
