Position Purpose

Express Credit Lesotho is seeking a diligent and results-oriented Finance Assistant / Junior Accountant to support our Finance Department. The role is critical in ensuring finance operations are effectively managed, with adherence to internal controls, procedures, and reporting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Finance Department across day-to-day financial operations

• Update and maintain finance records, databases, and personnel files

• Handle supplier payments, communications, and account reconciliations

• Generate weekly cash forecast reports related to supplier payments

• Assist in the preparation of presentations and financial proposals

• Support month-end closing activities, including uploading supporting documents to SharePoint

• Enter data and attach supporting documentation into the Sage X3 Accounting System

• Contribute to additional finance tasks as delegated

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience in a finance or accounting role (1–2 years preferred)

• Working knowledge of General Ledger, bank postings, and invoicing procedures

  
  
  

• Excellent command of MS Office and experience using Sage X3 (or similar ERP)

• Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting practices

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

• Strong numeracy and analytical thinking

  
  
  

• Effective time management and ability to work under pressure

• Good written and verbal communication skills

  
  
  

• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

• High levels of trustworthiness, ambition, and a drive for continuous learning

Education

• Diploma in Accounting or Finance (mandatory)

• Bachelor’s degree or current final-year student in Accounting/Finance will be an advantage

• Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is an added benefit
