The Department of Statistics & Demography at the National University of Lesotho (NUL) invites qualified applicants for the post of Lecturer or Senior Lecturer. The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s academic, research, and administrative functions.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Lecturer
-
Master’s Degree in Statistics, with training in Operations Research

Experience in teaching at university level, training statisticians, or applying statistics in research

Demonstrated ability to teach both theoretical and applied Statistics, including Operations Research
Senior Lecturer

PhD in Statistics with training in Operations Research

Minimum of 6 years university-level teaching experience
-
A proven research record with at least three (3) peer-reviewed publications
-
Must already hold a similar senior position in another institution of higher learning at the time of application
Core Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Statistics and Operations Research

Supervise student research projects

Engage in departmental research initiatives

Participate in administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department
Employment Terms
📅 Contract Type: Two-year contract (renewable based on performance)
