Vacancy: Deputy Registrar – Southern Division of the High Court (Mohale’s Hoek)
The Judiciary invites applications from suitably qualified local candidates for the position of Deputy Registrar, tenable at the Southern Division of the High Court in Mohale’s Hoek.

Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Registrar, the Deputy Registrar will manage court cases, coordinate legal operations, and support overall case flow and court performance at the Southern Division of the High Court.
Main Duties
1. Administer Case Management
- Lead case policy and standards meetings
- Validate and implement case management procedures
- Promote early resolution strategies (PTC, ADR, settlements)
- Design methods to reduce and prevent backlog
2. Manage Court Case Processes
- Establish coordination systems for case flow
- Allocate and schedule court cases
- Oversee case tracking and reporting
- Supervise taxation of costs and judgment execution
3. Coordinate Court Services
- Lead meetings on court rules and procedures
- Guide rule updates, practice directives, and compliance
- Review service reforms and pro-deo/court assessor guidelines
4. Enhance Performance
- Manage divisional work plans and projects
- Align team goals with national justice delivery
- Conduct staff appraisals and training plans
5. Discipline and Grievances
- Oversee staff discipline cases
- Chair grievance and disciplinary hearings

Experience

Minimum 5 years as Assistant Registrar
