Position Summary
The Director of Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) will lead the design, implementation, and refinement of the Foundation’s MEL strategy. This key leadership role ensures that impact measurement, learning, and strategic adaptation are embedded in all philanthropic efforts. Working across teams and with external partners, the Director will champion a culture of learning and ensure accountability to both grantees and donors. The role requires strong leadership in data analysis, strategy alignment, and the practical application of learning to drive social change through internet-based programs.

Join NowKey Responsibilities
- Lead the MEL strategy, metrics design, and implementation across grantmaking programs.
- Work with program teams and grantees to co-create impact frameworks and evaluation systems.
- Drive learning culture through strategic planning, cross-team collaboration, and reflection practices.
- Produce and disseminate impact reports, case studies, and learning insights.
- Oversee MEL staff and ensure effective resource allocation and budgeting.
- Represent the Foundation at external learning events and promote thought leadership.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in social science, evaluation, or a related field.
- 10+ years of MEL and evaluation experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Experience working in philanthropy, human rights, digital inclusion, or nonprofit evaluation.
- Advanced skills in both quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods.
- Proven ability to translate learning into strategic and operational decision-making.
- Knowledge of systems thinking, Trust-Based Philanthropy, and Theory of Change.
- Strong communication skills; proficiency in French or Spanish is a plus.
