Job Purpose

To independently assess the effectiveness of Nedbank Lesotho’s internal controls, governance processes, and risk management frameworks. You will provide insight and assurance to the Board and contribute to a stronger control culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute risk-based internal audits aligned to the approved audit plan
• Evaluate compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Recommend enhancements to internal control and governance systems
• Track resolution of prior audit findings and follow-up on management actions
• Prepare professional audit documentation and working papers
• Keep abreast of audit methodologies, risk trends, and industry regulations
• Engage with stakeholders across the bank to discuss findings and foster improvements
• Contribute to the bank’s transformation goals and culture-building initiatives
• Promote innovation and value creation through auditing best practices

Qualifications & Certifications

Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Auditing, Accounting, or Risk Management
• Minimum 3 years of relevant business or audit experience

Preferred:

• Professional certification: CIA, ACCA, CA
• Knowledge of IIA standards and governance frameworks

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• High ethical standards and attention to detail
• Ability to apply critical thinking and make sound decisions
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, auditing practices, and risk management
• Familiarity with project management and fraud prevention principles
