Position Overview

The Government of Lesotho, through the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development, is implementing the CAFI Project with financial support from the World Bank. As part of this initiative, the CAFI Project Management Unit (PMU) invites qualified individuals to express interest in the role of Clothing & Textile Value Chain Consultant.

The consultant will be instrumental in supporting value chain development and strategic interventions in the Clothing and Textile Sector (CTS) to promote competitiveness and financial inclusion across Lesotho’s industrial landscape.

  • Conduct sector-specific market research and develop strategy recommendations
  • Identify gaps and lead value chain enhancement initiatives
  • Facilitate engagements and dialogue with stakeholders from both public and private sectors
  • Provide guidance on project management activities, planning, and coordination across interventions
  • Support the design and implementation of policy and operational frameworks for the CTS

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or a closely related field
  • Proven experience in the Clothing and Textile Sector value chain
  • Demonstrated ability in market research, strategy development, and project execution
  • Excellent skills in facilitation, planning, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving
  • Strong capacity to lead critical interventions and manage complex engagements

Important Note

This assignment will be governed by the World Bank Procurement Regulations for IPF Borrowers (February 2025). Selection will follow the Individual Consultant (IC) Method, with specific attention to the Bank’s conflict of interest policies outlined in paragraphs 3.14, 3.16, and 3.17.
