Role Purpose

The Cyber Defense Specialist plays a key role in Vodacom Lesotho’s cybersecurity ecosystem. The position focuses on delivering a robust, end-to-end cyber defense service—proactively identifying threats, managing vulnerabilities, and leading cyber incident response efforts. This role collaborates closely with Vodacom Group, internal teams, and external stakeholders to ensure a secure digital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prevent cybersecurity incidents proactively and respond effectively to detected incidents
• Build, support, and maintain Cyber Defense CHARM requirements
• Implement, upgrade, and optimize security logging and monitoring systems
• Manage incidents in line with the Security Incident Management Process
• Support compliance with Vodacom Lesotho’s cyber policies, standards, and audit findings
• Track and resolve cyber risks, KPIs/KRIs, and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) incidents
• Lead activities in Vulnerability Management, including CSAN, penetration testing, and remediation programs
• Contribute to DevSecOps and Application Security integration
• Conduct Cyber Threat Modelling and provide guidance on countermeasures

Competencies & Skills

• Strong experience in Cyber SOC, Network Security, Intrusion Detection, or Reverse Engineering
• Proficient in tools like CyberArk, SIEM solutions, and Privileged Access Management platforms
• Demonstrated project management ability
• Analytical mindset with a solutions-driven approach

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in one of the following:
