Queen Mamohato Memorial Hospital (QMMH) is seeking a visionary and experienced Managing Director (MD) to lead the organization into its next phase of innovation and excellence in healthcare delivery.

The MD will provide strategic leadership, financial oversight, and operational management, ensuring the hospital achieves its mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and remains financially sustainable.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive long-term strategy and operational performance

  • Lead a multidisciplinary healthcare team across clinical, administrative, and financial units

  • Maintain compliance with national health regulations and policies

  • Build strong partnerships with government, community, and healthcare stakeholders

  • Promote innovation in service delivery and patient outcomes

  • Ensure good corporate governance and accountability

Minimum Requirements

  • Masterโ€™s degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospital Management, Medicine, or a related field

  • At least 10 yearsโ€™ leadership experience in hospital or healthcare administration



  • Solid understanding of Lesotho’s healthcare system, policies, and regulations

  • Strong record in financial planning, strategic execution, and change management



  • Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Psychometric assessment success required


Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Financial Health: Revenue growth, cost management

  • Operational Metrics: Bed occupancy, patient throughput

  • Quality Assurance: Compliance and patient safety standards

  • Human Resources: Staff retention and satisfaction




Terms of Employment

  • Contract Duration: 3 years (renewable based on performance)

  • Probation: 6 months

  • Performance Reviews: Bi-annually

  • Remuneration: Competitive package
