Contract Type: 3-Year Renewable Contract (based on performance)

Role Purpose
Queen Mamohato Memorial Hospital is seeking a seasoned healthcare executive to serve as Managing Director (MD). The MD will lead the hospital’s strategic and operational agenda, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while upholding good corporate governance and financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Governance

Lead strategic direction and policy execution in collaboration with the Board.

Ensure long-term sustainability, innovation, and alignment with national health priorities.
Operational & Financial Management
-
Oversee daily hospital operations across departments.

Manage financial performance including budgeting, cost controls, and reporting.

Drive operational efficiencies and risk mitigation.
Clinical Excellence
-
Uphold quality of care, clinical standards, and patient safety.

Foster a culture of evidence-based practice and accreditation compliance.
Human Capital & Organisational Development
-
Build and retain high-performing teams.
-
Promote learning, development, and staff engagement.
Stakeholder Relations
-
Liaise with government bodies, partners, community groups, and donors.

Represent QMMH in national and regional forums.
Required Qualifications and Experience
-
Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Hospital Management, Medicine, or related field.

Minimum 10 years of senior-level experience in hospital or healthcare leadership.

Strong record in financial management, operational leadership, and policy compliance.

Knowledge of Lesotho’s healthcare policies and regulatory frameworks.

Added advantage: A degree or professional experience in Business Administration.

Final selection subject to successful psychometric assessment.
