About the Role
The National University of Lesotho (NUL) invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Laboratory Technician within the Department of Chemistry & Chemical Technology. This is a permanent and pensionable (for locals) opportunity at one of the country’s leading academic institutions.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Diploma in Laboratory Sciences Technology with a focus on Chemical Sciences is required.

A Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Sciences may also be considered.

Prior experience as a laboratory technician in a university or equivalent institution of higher learning is an added advantage.

Laboratory preparation and supervision

Troubleshooting and minor repairs of laboratory equipment

Independent handling of chemicals and instruments

Key Duties and Responsibilities
-
Prepare and set up laboratory materials and equipment prior to practical sessions.

Supervise laboratory sessions when needed.

Perform general laboratory housekeeping.

Conduct minor maintenance and servicing of laboratory instruments.

Maintain updated inventory records of chemicals and equipment.
-
Order laboratory materials, including glassware, reagents, and equipment.
-
Undertake any other related duties as assigned by the HOD.
