VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Position Title: Registered Nurse Midwife
Grade: F
Employment Type: Permanent and Pensionable

Position Summary

Mohlanapeng Health Centre is seeking a qualified and dedicated Registered Nurse Midwife to join its team. The successful candidate will serve as a frontline healthcare provider, educator, advocate, counsellor, researcher, and manager in the health facility. They will operate independently and collaboratively to deliver essential diagnostic and therapeutic services within the scope of their profession.

Reporting Line

Reports directly to the Nurse-in-Charge.

Key Responsibilities

• Draw monthly duty schedules in the absence of the Nurse Clinician.

• Ensure adequate unit coverage when preparing rosters.

• Work both day and night shifts based on the needs of the health centre.

• Deliver comprehensive obstetric care including Antenatal (ANC), deliveries, and referrals.

• Provide a full range of MCH services: Postnatal care (PNC), Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), and Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI).

• Order medications and medical supplies in line with health centre policies.

• Ensure proper storage and control of all medicines.

• Record and report patient data according to Ministry of Health standards.

  
  
  

• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or higher qualification in General Nursing and Midwifery.

• Valid, up-to-date practicing license from the Lesotho Nursing Council.

Added Advantage:

• Experience in Primary Health Care

• Computer literacy or proficiency in e-Register

  
  
  

• Additional nursing specialty training
