Job Opening: Laboratory Technologist (x2)

The Ministry of Health, with support from the CDC, is hiring Laboratory Technologists as part of the “Strengthening Ministry of Health’s Capacity (MOH-Cap) for HIV Diagnosis, Treatment, and Monitoring in Lesotho” project.

Position: Laboratory Technologist (2 positions available)
Reports To: Director of Laboratory Services

Job Purpose:
To ensure safety precautions and quality assurance in laboratory operations.

Responsibilities:

• Follow safety rules and guidelines in the lab.
• Prepare disinfectants, clean, and disinfect the workspace daily.
• Monitor and log environmental temperatures.
• Dispose of samples according to guidelines.
• Receive and prepare samples for analysis, ensuring quality standards.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment as per protocols.
• Analyze samples and document findings.
• Refer critical results to the Senior Laboratory Technologist.
• Submit verified results and keep patient records organized.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
• 2 years of experience working in a laboratory setting.
• Skills in problem-solving, communication, computer use, and quality assurance.

Duration:
This is a 9-month contract, renewable based on funding. Applicants must be willing to work in any district in Lesotho.
